August Rush.

I know it's turning September soon. But i'll never neglect telling u about August and here's why...

It has been a mth of turbulence emotions for me. 1st off, i landed myself a JOB. As in, a real, adult, professional job. *Smiles* Im full pledged nurse now! Hurray!! Ive been wanting to have a stable job. Contribute to the family, pay bills, plan the finances ahead *Proud*. It's so adult isnt't it? Haha. Dont worry i know i'll get over this phase soon enough.

But all's not a bed-of-scented-red-and-pink-roses-with-godiva-chocolates scattered all around... It has been tough. Real tough. Hey, its always been that all-too-painstakingly-familiar phrase where parents or friends who's supposedly more wise and 'mature', 'Whoever said working was easy?' SCREW YOU.

Well it IS, if u dont have to :-
  • constantly be on your toes,
  • brisk walk your whole shift through,
  • have an event planner mounted at the top of your brain so you'll not forgot the list of job duties to be done in that shift,
  • enduring the bias treatment that you'll get from your own colleagues just because you're the 'noob',
  • earning a 4 figure salary that starts with the no. 9 atleast.. like, 'Ms Akirah Lee Gross Amt Salary Payable to DBS POSB - $9999/- '

Working would be easy then, by not having to go through all that. So the next time anybody shoots u that line again just tell them to go 'smash eggs on the face'. (this is a more gentle and civilized phrase rather then the usual 'GO F*CK SPIDER'. so yeah, use it and start the trend!)

Despite all that has been said, i always make it a point to, note, RUSH back home to spend quality time with my beloved family. My definition of a simple quality time is,
  • having dinner together at home,
  • sit in the living room and watch whatever it is they're watching on TiVo even though u dont understand the beginning of the story,
  • watch my lil' nephew all hyper from his usual dose of sugar rush, asks my mom n dad how their day has been..
  • etc..

I never want this stop just because im busy working shift hours. I love them, my parents. They're always there. Through my ups n downs, even if when im ugly and lazy, or beautifull and glowing. They have never stopped showing concern over me, understands me, bails me out in troubled times, willing to hear me out... Which leads me to another topic for another time...

I am Woman! Hear me ROARRR!
